Casa d'Arte San Patrignano

40 Years of Creativity and Social Inclusion

THE-IMPOSSIBLE-CONVERSATION-2

For over forty years, the artisan workshops of San Patrignano have preserved an extraordinary heritage: handwoven textiles, hand-painted wallpapers, and collaborations with some of the world’s most renowned designers and architects. Each piece tells a story — of beauty, craftsmanship, and lives rediscovered through work.

Thanks to the support of the Emilia-Romagna ERDF Regional Programme 2021–2027 (PR-FESR), within the call for proposals supporting innovation and investment in cultural and creative enterprises (Action 1.3.4), this heritage now has a new home and a new voice.

The project has made it possible to achieve three key objectives: the creation of both a digital and physical archive of all textile and wallpaper samples produced over forty years of activity, now catalogued according to the standards of the National Plan for the Digitalization of Cultural Heritage and accessible to designers and interior design professionals worldwide; the development of a dedicated museum space adjacent to the workshops, where visitors can immerse themselves in the history and techniques of artisanal production through an exhibition path combining physical samples, narratives, images, and videos; and the creation of a digital platform that makes the collection catalogue available online, opening the San Patrignano workshops to an international market.

The museum space is now open to the approximately 20,000 students and visitors who come to San Patrignano each year: a place where excellence in craftsmanship becomes an educational experience, and where the beauty of handmade work conveys the value of human skill and talent.

The project was co-financed by the European Union and the Emilia-Romagna Region under the PR-FESR 2021–2027, Action 1.3.4 — CUP E75H23001880004.
